American Councils for International Education announce the beginning of the US Government-funded Program for High School Students. Finalists of the competition will have the opportunity to live with an American family and study in an American high school during 2013-2014 academic years. The program pays for all travel, housing and living expenses for program participants.
We invite all students to participate in the competition who:
were born in the period between January 1, 1996 to July 15, 1998;
have not lived in the United States for more than three months in the last five years;
and who speak English well.
This program is open to all high school students who meet requirements of the program including students with disabilities. More than 200 disabled students have already studied in the U.S. on this program.
In order to participate in the competition you must bring:
your birth certificate or passport;
one recent photograph 3x4;
a pen.

EDUCATION ADVISING CENTER IN ASHGABAT The EAC library contains books on business and economics, U.S. history and geography, encyclopedias, college and university handbooks and catalogues, test preparation materials (TOEFL, SAT, GRE, GMAT), newspapers, and magazines, are also available in the library.
OPPORTUNITY GRANTS (OG)
Opportunity Grants will help cover preliminary costs for talented students from Turkmenistan, who need financial help to study in the US colleges and universities.
There are no complicated forms or procedures. Students, who want to apply just have to contact the Educational Advisor at ACCELS in Ashgabat or the American Corners in Mary, Turkmenabat, and Dashoguz.
ETS TESTING American Councils for International Education in Turkmenistan is pleased to offer the paper-based TOEFL, GRE, and SAT tests. Tests are offered 2-5 times a year and a schedule is available at our office. Registration booklets, practice tests, and other materials are also available, upon request.
THE JUNIOR FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (JFDP)
is a program of Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State. JFDP is administered by American Councils for International Education: ACTR/ACCELS.
The American Councils for International Education office in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan no longer administers recruitment and application support for American University in Bulgaria (AUBG), Central European University (CEU), and the U.S. Central Asia Education Foundation (CAEF). For information on these academic programs for citizens of Turkmenistan please visit their central web sites.
