American Corners Celebrate FLEX Appreciation Day, Strengthening Alumni Networks Across Regions

In October, the American Corners in Dashoguz, Mary, and Turkmenabat celebrated FLEX Appreciation Day, bringing together diverse generations of alumni from FLEX and other U.S. government-sponsored programs. Throughout these regional gatherings, alumni connected, networked, and shared personal memories of high school life, host families, and the lasting impact of their exchange experiences on their personal and professional growth.

Participants engaged in a variety of collaborative and team-building activities, ranging from cultural games like “Guess the U.S. Movie” and FLEX Alumni Bingo to watching a custom “Thank You FLEX!” video and decorating cookies. Across all sites, alumni emphasized the foundational role of American Corners as critical resources for language development and personal growth. Ultimately, these reunions highlighted the enduring value of cross-cultural exchanges, reinforced local alumni networks, and inspired local youth to pursue future educational opportunities, cultivating a network of leaders dedicated to mutual success.
