Job Description:
The American Councils are seeking a dedicated IT Specialist for a short-term program aimed at enhancing app development among youth- ages 18-25, web development, and coding skills among high school students aged 16-19 in Ashgabat, Dashoguz, Mary, and Turkmenabat.
The app development program will introduce young learners to the fundamentals of app development and coding, inspiring interest in STEM fields and fostering problem-solving, creativity, and innovation through hands-on, project-based learning through interactive workshops and STEM challenges.
The web developer skills program will focus on website design and practical use of digital tools, culminating in a final pitch event where participants will showcase their projects to an audience of peers, mentors, and potential employers.
The IT Specialist will deliver workshops, provide technical support, assist in the development of educational materials focused on various programming and design tools, equip participants with essential tech skills, enabling them to create mobile apps and compete in Tech Olympiads and hackathons.
The app development program will:
• Teach basic app development, including user interface design and coding logic;
• Build foundational coding skills using age-appropriate platforms;
• Engage participation in the NASA Space Apps Challenge to apply learning in real-world contexts;
• Promote critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity through team-based challenges;
• Empower youth with confidence to pursue future studies or careers in technology.
The web development program will:
• Equip participants with hands-on skills in website design, front-end development, and basic back-end functionality using industry-standard tools and technologies;
• Introduce participants to foundational data analysis techniques and digital tools that support modern web development and decision-making;
• Guide participants through the creation of real-world web projects—individually or in teams—that demonstrate their skills and creativity;
• Prepare participants to effectively present and pitch their projects during the final showcase event to an audience of peers, mentors, and potential employers;
• Strengthen participants’ confidence in using digital tools and applying web development skills in professional contexts, increasing their employability and readiness for tech-related roles.
Key Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with program coordinator and local staff to develop engaging curriculum materials tailored for youth audiences.
· Promote an enthusiastic learning environment to engage participants and encourage the exploration of technology.

Qualifications:
— Strong knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:
· HTML, CSS, JavaScript
· Dart, Flutter
· Generative AI apps
— Proven experience working with youth in educational or community settings.
— Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
— Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Language Proficiency:
At least Intermediate level of English proficiency
