Position Description
American Councils seeks enthusiastic, responsible, and motivated Program Facilitators to support the implementation of the Robotics Training and Tournament Summer 2026 program at American Spaces across Turkmenistan.


The initiative will engage 80 high school students (ages 15–17) through a nationwide English-language robotics education program delivered across four American Spaces. Using U.S.-developed robotics curricula and platforms such as LEGO Mindstorms, Dash Robotics, and Arduino Education CTC Go!, the program will promote innovation, technology education, problem-solving, teamwork, and STEM leadership.

The program will culminate in a National Robotics Tournament held in Ashgabat during Kids Expo 2026, featuring a NASA and Space Exploration theme that highlights American leadership in science, technology, and innovation.

Working closely with the Program Coordinator, trainers, and American Councils staff, the Program Facilitator will support local program implementation, participant engagement, training activities, logistics, and tournament preparation at their assigned American Space.

The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with youth, facilitating educational activities, coordinating events, and supporting STEM learning initiatives. This is a temporary part-time position from July 1, 2026 through August 31, 2026. The position requires regular coordination with the Program Coordinator, American Spaces-Experiential Learning Assistant, and American Corners Grant Manager.

Position Responsibilities
Program Implementation and Participant Support
• Support the implementation of the Robotics Training and Tournament Summer 2026 program at the assigned American Space.
• Assist the Program Coordinator in carrying out project activities according to the approved work plan and schedule.
• Help ensure consistent delivery of program activities, training sessions, and workshops.
• Maintain regular communication with participants and provide guidance throughout the program.
• Monitor participant attendance, engagement, and progress.
• Assist with collection of program data, feedback, and required documentation.
• Assist participants in understanding program requirements, activities, and competition expectations.
• Help organize and prepare training materials, equipment, and learning resources.
• Encourage teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and active participation among students.
• Support implementation of activities based on the NASA and Space Exploration theme.
Logistics and Event Coordination
• Coordinate local logistics for training sessions, meetings, and program events.
• Assist with inventory management, setup, maintenance, and organization of robotics equipment and materials.
• Ensure training spaces are prepared and operational for program activities.
• Support communication and coordination between participants, parents, trainers, and American Councils staff.
• Assist with participant travel and event preparation activities as required.
Robotics Tournament Support
• Assist in preparing participants for the National Robotics Tournament.
• Support implementation of tournament rules, procedures, and competition activities.
• Help coordinate local team registration, documentation, and communications.
• Assist tournament staff, judges, mentors, and volunteers during tournament activities.
• Chaperone participants to the National Robotics Tournament in Ashgabat.
• Support logistics and participant management during the National Robotics Tournament in Ashgabat.
Reporting and Documentation
• Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and participant engagement.
• Submit regular updates and reports to the Program Coordinator and American Councils staff.
• Document success stories, participant achievements, and program outcomes.
• Assist with final program reporting and evaluation activities.
Deliverables
The Program Facilitator will be expected to deliver:
• Successful implementation of assigned program activities at the local American Space.
• Participant attendance and engagement records.
• Activity reports and program documentation.
• Support for training sessions and tournament preparation activities.
• Participant feedback and evaluation data.
• Contribution to the successful organization and implementation of the National Robotics Tournament.
• Final summary report of local program activities and outcomes.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or current university student in education, engineering, information technology, STEM-related fields, or a related discipline preferred.
• Experience working with youth, educational programs, community initiatives, or extracurricular activities.
• Interest in robotics, STEM education, technology, or innovation programs.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to facilitate group activities and support participant learning.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• English language proficiency preferred.
