UNDERGRADUATE COHORT ADVISING (UCA) 2018-2019

Are you still in high school and interested in applying to colleges or universities in the United States? Then you are WELCOME to participate on the college preparatory session with EducationUSA in Turkmenistan.

A 10-month intensive preparatory program aims to provide YOU with the most useful skills for preparing successful application to

U.S. Higher Educational Institutions.

Join UCA to learn everything about American Higher Education System and Educational Opportunities in the United States!

Deadline to submit completed application forms: Saturday, June 15, 2019.  

Requirements:
Participation is open and free to the best and the brightest students in grades 9 – 11; 11th grades must join by July before start of the final school year;

  • Strong English Language skills (English and Math skills will be tested);
  • Strong Interest in applying to the US schools;
  • Good academic standing;
  • Goal oriented and highly motivated;
  • Able to commit for the duration of the program – 10 month;

  1. Send completed UCA application form along with the supporting documents via e-mail to the relevant EdUSA Advising Center by June 15th, 2019 (Incomplete application will not be reviewed).
  2. Attend Assessment English & Math Tests and Interview;
  3. Become a UCA Participant!

Freshmen Cohort Alumnus Updates

Serdar Gayybov
Serdar Gayybov

Serdar Gayybov is a FLEX’17 and UCA’18 alumnus and a current freshmen student at the Central Wyoming College (CWC) who was published in the local “The Sunday Ranger” newspaper as a Student of the Week. Serdar is pursuing a Health Science major in a hope to become a nurse practitioner in the future. He has finished his first semester of the 17 credits coursework witha 3.78 GPA and has been included into the Dean’s list. Serdar is a part of the “IDea Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE)” group, where he is involved in “sequencing the genome of Culex tarsals mosquito, the major carrier of West Nile and West Nile encephalitis viruses”.

At the same time, Serdar serves as a student ambassador and has just signed a contract to play soccer at the CWC. One of his English professors, Dr. Tilton noted that Serdar “… stands out in class in not only academic achievements but also as a positive influence… dedicated to learning, and a pleasure to work with”. Serdar is very active both in academic and social life and has noted that one of his biggest personal achievement is that he feels “welcomed despite being an international student… there is always someone who would go out and play soccer with you and provide a helping hand whenever is needed”.

Kerim Velbayev
Kerim Velbayev

Kerim Velbayev is a UCA alumnus and a freshmen student pursuing a degree in Engineering, who has recently been accepted to the Phi Delta Kappa Honors Society Program due to his academic excellence at the Central Wyoming College. Kerim has successfully completed his first semester at the CWC with a 4.0 GPA and is an active member of the variety of campus and college clubs. As a result of his academic performance, Kerim earned the honor with a highest distinction award to be included into the President’s list. In addition, Kerim was awarded with the Full Ride scholarship, which will allow Kerim to continue his academic studies with a full coverage of the educational cost at the CWC.
