CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SUMMER ADMISSIONS WORKSHOP-2015 PARTICIPANTS!

American Councils in Turkmenistan congratulates the Summer Admissions Workshop (SAW-2015) participants for successful completion of the full five-day intensive workshop! Throughout these five-day college-preparatory summer sessions, participants focused on getting invaluable information on application process to the U.S. Higher Educational Institutions and became the most competitive applicant!

From July 08 – August 02, 2015 50 participants took part in a five day series of intensive academic lectures, U.S. standardized practice tests, and academic activities with the goal of putting students on a viable path to competitively applying to U.S. colleges and universities during the Fall 2015. SAW-2015 took place in the EducationUSA Advising Center in Turkmenistan and the three regional American Corners in Dashoguz, Mary, and Turkmenabad, reaching students in four out of five regions of the country.

The curriculum of the SAW-2015 sessions focused on giving the participants a fundamental understanding of the U.S. higher education application process, application strategies, requirements, and a task timeline, application and scholarship essay writing tips, outlines of tuition costs, skills and resources for finding scholarship opportunities, introduced to the Prep4Success program and diagnostic SAT and TOEFL admission tests.

SAW-2015 was open to visitors of the centers who are interested in attending a U.S. college or university. All interested candidates were selected based on their score results from the English assessment test and determination to apply to U.S. institutions.
