FLEX 2025-2026 Testing Schedule


The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and United States Embassy in Turkmenistan announce the 2024-2025 testing schedule for the U.S. Government-funded FLEX Exchange Program for High School Students for the 2025-2026 academic year. The program provides competitively selected secondary school students with a scholarship to spend a year living in the U.S. with a volunteer host family, attending a U.S. high school to foster understanding between the people of the United States and the people of Turkmenistan. The FLEX scholarship covers travel, housing and living expenses. Students with disabilities are strongly encouraged to participate in the competition.

FLEX testing is open to all high school students who meet the following requirements:
Born between March 15, 2007 and May 31, 2009; students in the final year of school who are required to complete military service are ineligible;
• Are currently enrolled in a secondary school, having an academic standing of good or better;
• Have previously studied English and demonstrate English language ability at the time of registration;
• Have not lived in the United States for more than three months in the last five years;
• Are eligible to receive a U.S. visa;
• Are citizens of Turkmenistan.

In order to participate in the competition please bring a proof of eligibility (original birth certificate or passport), one recent photograph (3×4 cm), and a black pen. All students participating in the testing must wear school uniforms.

* If for some reasons, high school students from the regions miss the Round 1 test in their home region, they will have an opportunity to take FLEX Round 1 test in Ashgabat. Students can only participate in one Round 1 Test per year.

Celebration of FLEX Appreciation Day 2021 in Turkmenistan!

On September 4th, 2021 FLEX Alumni Coordinator launched a contest for FLEX alumni kids which was dedicated to the celebration of FLEX Appreciation Day. 12 children colored FLEX logo and submitted their creative works. The contest winners were announced at the FLEX Appreciation Day celebration on September 27th, 2021 which was organized virtually.


34 FLEX alumni expressed interest in celebrating the FLEX Appreciation Day by sharing their FLEX stories, expressing gratitude to FLEX program, and networking with each other.  Various games and icebreakers organized by Regional City Representatives made the celebration fun. Kristina Fateyeva’07 commented: “Thank you so much for a great event. I really enjoyed it and thanks to the FLEX program. Once FLEX – forever FLEX”.

The alumni particularly liked Guess the Baby Photo activity during which they guessed alumni that were on a picture. At the end, all alumni participants took part in a lottery with FLEX promotional prizes.

FLEX talk with Rovshen Charyyev’08 on: “How we ended up in corporate world and how you can do the same”

On May 15th, Rovshen Charyyev’08 (Ashgabat) gave an online talk on the following topic: “How we ended up in corporate world and how you can do the same”. FLEX alumnus has also invited his friend Mile Tasevski, who works as a Supply Planning Manager in Philips and helps university graduates to get their first job offers. During the talk, Rovshan and Mile shared their hands-on experience of working for big corporations, such as Amazon and Philips and discussed hiring and selection process in-depth, shared key tips for securing jobs in international companies. The alumni asked several questions about graduate trainee programs, scholarships and networking opportunities. Overall, 18 participants took part in this talk and 14 of them were FLEX alumni including alumni who connected from Russia, Turkey and Germany. The alumni found the talk very inspiring and they are motivated to use gained knowledge to apply for their first jobs.
