Position Description
SUMMARY
The Business Camp project will be conducted across all four American Spaces with the goal of educating and inspiring high school students to explore U.S. business practices, analyze global challenges, and take their first steps toward becoming future leaders. By the end of the program, participants will have developed the skills to design a creative and practical business plan based on U.S. business models, and present their ideas confidently before a panel of judges. This project will be held in English in Ashgabat, Turkmenabat, Dashoguz, and Mary American Spaces from November 24 and 26, 2025, until December 10, 2025 (tentative).
The job is great for someone who has project- or event-leading experience and enjoys working with the team and public. This is a temporary part-time position for the period of November 15 until December 15, 2025 (tentative). Please note that the position requires virtual attendance at a two-day training of trainers (ToT) in November 2025. This position reports directly to the Business Camp Project Coordinator but requires frequent coordination with the American Spaces-Experiential Learning Assistant and American Corners Grant Manager.
Position Responsibilities:
• Conduct Business Camp training at the American Center in Ashgabat and at the American Corners (depending on where you applied), utilizing the curriculum developed by the project coordinator and ideas developed during the TOT.
• Collaborate with the project coordinator on all stages of the project.
• Utilize interactive tools and methods to engage the students.
• Follow the schedule set by American Spaces.
• Identify local business experts from your own city or region and invite them as guest speakers and juries.
• During the project implementation, conduct and collect surveys and photos/videos from the activities.
• Prepare the program participants for the final business pitch.
• Upon the completion of the project, submit detailed reports, evaluation forms, statistics, and photos from the project activities to the project coordinator.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English;
• Knowledgeable about the business field, work experience in business is preferred;
• Experience in activity or project organization is preferred;
• Previous experience in conducting trainings is preferred;
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to organize, encourage, inspire, and motivate youth;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, creativity, initiative, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
In general, all American Councils staff members are expected to support a positive, team atmosphere and step outside of their formal roles from time-to-time to support the organization, special initiatives, or individual programs when needed.
